The occurrence of malaria\n cases is very low, due tho the fact that the accommodation is situated \nnear to the beach, experiencing a light breeze from the ocean most of \nthe time, and that there are no swamps nearby. However, minor \nprecautions are advised. The use of mosquito repellents and nets are \nrecommended throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dumela villa has mosquito nets<\/em>. As part of the Anti Malaria \nprogramme of the National Department of Health, all buildings in Cumbini\n Resorts, including Dumela villa are sprayed with insecticide. We would \nadvise you to consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure of \nthe precautions you need to take. <br>\n<br>\n<strong>At the border <\/strong><br>\nPassing the border does not have to be a hassle if you prepare yourself \nwell for it. South African residents do not need a visa, overseas \ntourists do need one. They can get a visa at the border (also at the \nairport in Inhambane) but it is advisable to get it beforehand at the \nMozambican embassy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Take with<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Vehicle registration documents (original or certified copy)<\/li><li>A letter of authority from the owner if the driver of a vehicle is not the registered owner<\/li><li>A letter and certified copy of registration documents from the bank, if the vehicle is on hire purchase<\/li><li>Registration documents of trailer (where applicable)<\/li><li>Passports and ID documents<\/li><li>Documentation at the border<\/li><li>Pay border duties (about R17 per person)<\/li><li>Temporary Import Permit for your car<\/li><li>Take out temporary third party insurance (valid for 30 days)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\n<strong>Safety on the road<\/strong><br>\nThe road via Nelspruit and Maputo is a good and safe road to travel. \nImprovements to the road surface are constantly in process. Except for \nthe last 18 km being dirt road, the whole route is tarred road. Always \nwear safety belts and do not exceed the speed limits of 100km\/h on the \nopen road, and 60 km\/h in built-up areas. Speed traps are present \nespecially in the cities and small towns. Traffic Police normally don\u2019t \nhassle tourists, but will stop and fine you if traffic regulations are \nignored. Keep vehicle papers and drivers licence at hand for inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stop over half way<\/strong><br>\nTake your time and make the trip part of your holiday. Fully catered overnight facilities are available. Popular facilities are:<em> Blue Anchor and Casa Lisa<\/em> which are both located 45km north of Maputo and Honey Pot located approximately 185km from Maputo, near Xai-Xai. <br>\n<br>\n<em>To take with you<\/em><br>\nMake sure that you have in your vehicle:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Vehicle documentation received at the border and vehicle registration papers.<\/li><li>Drivers licence and Passport.<\/li><li>Two triangles plus a reflector vest for night time emergencies (Police do enquire about this)<\/li><li>Important: If a boat or trailer is towed, a blue and yellow \ntriangle sticker (available at most outdoor and 4&#215;4 accessory outlets in\n South Africa) must be stuck onto the front of your car and on the rear \nof the trailer.<\/li><li>The standard vehicle emergency equipment including a tyre pressure gauge.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dutch link to more information about Mozambique:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttp:\/\/mozambique.startpagina.nl\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Travel Information Malaria Dumela is situated in a malaria low risk area.
